Thomas is famous!

Most of you have already seen this but for those of you whose e-mail's I don't have...Thomas is famous! There is a picture of him posted on the IndyStar's website. Just click the link and then click on Thomas' picture in the upper righ-hand corner.

Some fun stuff

In light of all the yuckiness that's going around I thought I'd share some Thomas fun...

Last week Thomas farted in the bathtub for the first time. He thought the bubbles were hilarious and did it a couple more times (just for fun, I think)!

Day before yesterday Thomas figured out how to open the cabinet door under the sink in the bathroom. He must of opened and closed the door for 10 minutes! Every time he would open it, look inside and then let it slam shut. We eventually had to pull him away to get ready for bed!

Last night he was practicing his drumming again but this time using a spoon on the cabinets. He also broke a bowl during some "gravity testing". He has become quite the little researcher on this topic too, let me tell you!

Super contagious

Thomas only threw up on mommy 2 times yesterday so I think he is starting to get better. There are still a lot of DIRTY diapers but at least those can be contained. Now Thomas' sitter and her oldest are sick too. This darn bug must be super contagious!

P.S. If I was you I wouldn't come to our house right now:)

Tummy bug :(

I think Thomas has a tummy bug. His poor little belly has been upset since yesterday. I'll save you all the details but we've had multiple diaper "blow-outs" and some puking. I guess the stomach flu is going around. Once we got him down last night he slept okay but still got sick this morning. He's at the sitter now and we're just going to keep an eye on him and try to keep him hydrated. Hopefully it's just a 24 hour bug and he'll work through it soon.

Thomas is crawling...for real!!!

When I picked Thomas up from Daycare yesterday the sitter, Amy, said look he just started crawling! And sure enough she sat him down and he crawled right over to the TV. (I think he's going to like electronics like his dad!) So we practiced some more last night and by George I think he's got it! Daddy got home late last night but even in his tired state he managed to summon up the strength to show daddy his new found skill. The video is kind of dark but you can still see him crawling to dad in it!

Update

Still no fevers!!! Travis and I keep saying that Thomas is a "new baby". He is sooo happy now that he feels better! He's been rolling around and laughing and squealing like never before! He's still eating well and last night he slept from 8:45pm until 7:45 am! It's amazing. We are all so happy that he is finally feeling better.

So far, so good!

It's Sunday and so far no fevers! This is our first weekend in over month that Thomas hasn't ended up with a fever. Hopefully this means the shots are working!

We've had a fun weekend so far...aunt Sabrina and Grandma were here Friday night and then Grandma and Grandpa Berghoff were here and stayed Saturday night. So Thomas got some spoiling and loved every minute of it!

Little piggy

Our little piggy ate 2 whole jars of baby food for dinner and took a full bottle at 8 before bed and another at 2am. Then he had seconds at breakfast and a bottle. He must be hungry!! I guess he's just trying to make up for lost time:)

Eating better

So far so good...the fevers have not returned and Thomas seems to be eating better than he has for awhile.  I figure that's got to be worth something!

Thomas learning to crawl

Here's another little video of Thomas learning to crawl.  Not quite at the speed of light yet but we're working on it!

Done with shots!

The doctor said Thomas' ears looked better today than they did yesterday.  He got 2 more shots today but since his ears are getting better we don't have to go back tomorrow for more...yippee!  So now we just wait 2 weeks and hope that he continues to get better and better.

He took his shots like a champ again and seems to be feeling pretty well this evening.  Actually its 9:20pm and he is still rolling around on the floor playing and smiling.  Hopefully this means we are on the home stretch!

Here's some pictures of him playing tonight.  The first one is of him with his favorite toy, his penguin.  And the second is of him playing his drum that we made tonight from his 'lil crunchies tin.

A note from Thomas..

Thomas has a little something he'd like to say...

 k  bf m0trdyo;6lboy6, j        bnh5gg,f/.rewe nhhhhhhgx NB3
IHIJLEOLJIK KGRGFD;

I think it means OUCH!!

Ouch!

We're back from the doctor and Thomas' ears are STILL infected after 4 rounds of antibiotics.  So today he had to get an antibiotic shot.  It was so big they had to split it into 2 different shots. OUCH, poor baby! It makes me sad whenever Thomas has to get shots BUT the poor thing needs to get better so whatever it takes we're ready to do.  We have to go back tomorrow and the next day to recheck his ears and probably get 2 more shots.

The doctor doesn't want us to treat his fevers anymore so we can tell if the shot is working.  A night without Tylenol could be interesting.  I'll let you know how it goes...

Doctor today at 2pm

Thomas and Mommy are home today.  Thomas' doctors appt is today at 2pm.  I'll post again afterwards and let you all know what the doctor says.

My poor sick (pickle lovin') baby!

Bad news... Thomas is sick again.  We were up quite a bit last night and then he woke up this morning with a 102 degree fever again.  I called the doctor and she said to treat the fevers today and tonight and bring him back in again in the morning.  This is what's happened the last 2 times so I'm pretty sure its his ears still but she wants to take a look and make sure.  I'll update the blog tomorrow to let everyone know how our appt goes.

On a happier note, before getting sick again Thomas enjoyed his playtime with cousin Erica on friday and mommy and daddy enjoyed their Valentine's Dinner out.  Thank you Erica!  Also, Aunt Tanya and uncle Alan came for a visit on Saturday and we all went to lunch.  Aunt Tanya shared her HUGE pickle with Thomas and he loved it:)

No more fevers

Good news...Thomas has been fever free since Tuesday! Hopefully this means the antibiotic is still working. On an interesting note the new medicine turns Thomas' poop red! It's crazy!

Tonight Thomas is having cousin Erica over for a little bit so mommy and daddy can go to dinner for Valentine's Day. Sorry Bubs no babies allowed:)

Starting to feel better

Well I think Thomas is starting to feel better again with this new stronger antibiotic. He even ate some yogurt and sweet potatoes and apples this morning. He slept much better last night too. So far no fevers today yet so lets keep our fingers crossed...

Last night after his bath Thomas crawled!! I put his little miniature basketball on the edge of the blanket and he decided he wanted it. So he rolled from the other side of the room over to the blanket and then got up on all 4's and crawled for about a foot. Then as soon as he was close enough he dropped back down on his belly and scooted over to it. .. As soon as he figures out that he can crawl to get to WHEREVER he wants we're going to be in trouble! It won't be long until I'll be posting about what Thomas got into when mommy wasn't watching!!!!

Weekend Fun

Friday night we were invited to dinner at Todd, Kristine and Alex's new house. These are newer friends of ours that we met a few months back. It was our first experience with Papa Murphy's pizza, yum! Alex is about a year and half so he and Thomas got some playtime while the adults visited. We're looking forward to summer when they can visit and play outside. Alex has a nice outdoor playset at his new house that I'm sure the kids will have alot of fun on. Friday night and Saturday uncle Kort, aunt Lindsey and the kids were over. As always there was lots of good food and fun playtime!!

Sunday the weather was beautiful and we were able to get out for a walk around our new neighborhood. We walked around the block and over to one of the community playgrounds and then back along the trails behind our house. It was really nice and I think Thomas enjoyed the fresh air. He fell asleep all bundled up in his stroller. It was adorable. We also got him out a little again on Monday. He and dad did some hanging out in the back yard and started working of the pool. We can't wait until Summer!!!

Back to the doctor...AGAIN!

Thomas ended up back at the doctor yesterday. We thought we had these stupid ear infections kicked with this last antibiotic prescription but we were wrong. So Monday we headed back to the doctor. At the doctor his temperature measured 103.5 and he was just miserable. Poor thing.

Turns out he has some SUPERBUG ear infections. Now he's on the strongest oral antibiotics possible for his age. Hopefully this will work. If it doesn't the next step is daily injections of antibiotics...I REALLY hope we don't have to go there:(

On a positive note, thomas really likes mommies new ride! I'm driving a rental while my car is getting fixed from the accident. It's a minivan. (I feel like such a soccer mom!) It's got lots of windows and the seats are high enough that Thomas can see out of the windows. He's enjoying this much more than his usual view of the rear headrest!

Crawling?

Thomas is soooo close to crawling!  Technically, I think he crawled for the first time tonight and Travis and I got see it!!  I'm not sure if we're ready for this but he is going to be mobile VERY soon!!!!

Here's a little video of him trying to crawl...

Fender Bender

So Thomas was in his first car accident this week thanks to a snow covered slick road and a lady who started to pull out on the highway and then changed her mind... Luckily it was just a little fender bender and Thomas and mom are fine. Actually when I got out of the car to check on him he was smiling. I have a feeling he's going to like amusement parks when he is older!

Back to the doctor

We were back at the doctor today for a recheck of Thomas' ears. Unfortunately, they are still infected after a week on antibiotics so we're switching to a stronger one. Keep your fingers crossed that this works...and that he'll take the new medicine as well as he was taking the tasty pink amoxicillan!

A little side note: The doctor lovingly referred to his left ear as a "wax farm" - how disgusting!

Thomas' tongue

So as I look back over the last set of pictures we uploaded from the camera its apparant that Thomas REALLY LOVES TO STICK HIS TONGUE OUT!! What a crazy baby!!

Crazy busy weekend!

Well just as the title of this post suggests we had a "crazy busy" weekend! Friday was grandpa Kent's 50th birthday so we headed up north. Thomas spent Friday night with grandma Roxy and grandpa Rick while mommy and daddy went to grandpa Kent's birthday party. Fun times for the big kids!

Then Saturday we had lunch at Pizza Hut (had to get some yummy breadsticks!!) with grandma Vickie and aunt Sabrina. Then we headed back home and had dinner with Dave and Kim. This was Thomas' first time using a booster seat at a resaurant and he loved it. He was right at the table amidst all the action...He even reached over and tried some of dad's sushie...YUCK! Needless to say he didn't go back for more:)

Then Sunday we had a little superbowl get together at our house. Thomas and Ella had a great time playing together and Thomas even shared his 'lil crunchies. We all ate a lot of tasty food including Thomas who got to try some of Kim's tasty Taco dip...one of my favorites!
