Christmas decorations

Our outside Christmas lights are up and most of our inside decorations as well. There were some "breakable" items that I decided against getting out this year but the house still looks pretty nice. Now we just have to wait until Travis and I get back from our mini vacation the first of December and then we can get our tree. I'm pretty sure once the tree is up and decorated Thomas is going to be out of his mind with all the colorful "balls"! And yes, he is still on a ball kick. No matter where we are we have to stop and take note of every ball we see!! Should make for an interesting Christmas:)

Jammer secret!

We've figured out a new way to get Thomas' Pajamas (Jammers) on him without a fight...the key is to pick Pj's that have something on them that he likes like a ball, kitty etc. Once we show him the "ball" or "kitty" jammers he immediately pats his belly to tell us he wants to put them on. Our nightly routine of bath and jammers is MUCH easier now. :)

Thomas also likes to put lotion on now which gives me enough time with him laying down putting on lotion to get his diaper on! He is just soooo busy it's hard to get the kid to sit still!!

Mama!

Thomas has finally figured out that when he says Mama I answer and/or come to him. He's been saying mama on and off for a while but has never really used it to get my attention until this past weekend. It started Friday night. I was upstairs changing and he was downstairs in his highchair eating dinner and I hear "Mama??"... and I said "yes, honey I'm upstairs" then he said "Mama??" and so I came down and when he saw me he had the biggest smile of his face! I think that's the point it clicked. Now whenever he's done eating or wants more he lets me know by saying mama and getting my attention. Also, if he doesn't know where I am he will walk around the house saying "Mama?...Mama?" Its really cute. I'm sure here in the near future I will grow tired of him saying Mama all the time but right now it just warms my heart and puts a big smile on my face!!

Sliding at the park

Here's a video of Thomas sliding at the park we visited last weekend. You can see from the video how much more independent he is getting and also what a cutie pie he is!!

Dad making Thomas laugh

Check out this video of Travis making Thomas laugh! Travis was acting like he was going to eat his dinner and Thomas thought it was hilarious! There is just nothing better than a good belly laugh ;)

Weekend hodgepodge

We had such a fun filled weekend with LOTS of activity and pictures I'd thought I'd just do a quick picture recap.

This is Thomas playing in a tunnel at a huge park in Fishers. We met Ella and Eli (and their families of course!) there of Sunday for a playdate that ended with us all watching the Colts game at Ella's house. Thomas' favorite part of the day was playing in the tunnels and sliding.

This was lunch on the go on the way to the park! I took this picture because it was Thomas' first peanut butter and jelly sandwhich! He wasn't too sure at first but as soon as I got him to taste it he devoured the rest. BTW, BP&J's in the car can be messy;-)

Saturday night playdate at the Rabel's. We decided it had been a while since the kids were all together so we went to their house and let the kids play and we ordered pizza. Thomas got to sit at their little "kids table" to eat his pizza and it was adorable.

Thomas on his way into Starbucks...seriously! We went to for lunch and then just walked around Clay Terrace on Saturday since it was so nice out and he took off and headed into Starbucks. He went straight to the cooler they keep in the front and pulled out an organic milk! Dad helped him open it and insert the straw and then he sat in Starbucks and enjoyed his milk. This is what I call silly antics but it was sooo cute and I couldn't fault him for wanting to get a tasty Starbucks beverage!

Dad and Thomas deciding on lunch. Thomas opted for the grilled cheese with a side of fruit and animal crackers:) I thought this picture was cute because it really looks like he is studying the menu trying to decide what to order.

A picture of Thomas at his first basketball game!!! Travis had to work Saturday morning so I thought I would try and take Thomas to see the neighbor boy play. Unfortunately, we were running a little behind schedule so didn't get to see Scott's game but Thomas still enjoyed watching the "big boys" play ball. He kept saying "ball, ball" and pointing. And then after each basket we would clap. I think he really enjoyed it and I'm sure we will go back.

Thomas enjoying some of his leftover Halloween candy. I think his favorite is anything with chocolate...I think he gets that from me;-)

And here he is with his pumpkin tub wandering why we can't go back out to get more candy...I mean "come on mom and dad my tub is empty!"

Happy Birthday Grandma Vickie!

End of summer;(

The pool is officialy closed for the season**SIGH** and the new safety cover installed. It figures the first year we have a pool would be the coldest summer in like a 100 years. Oh well, there is always next year I guess.
Looking back over the pics of the pool closing I came across this one. I thought it was adorable. It pretty much says it all.... "SUMMER, I MISS YOU ALREADY!!!

P.S. Thomas went into the shed and pulled his floaty out all by himself and planted himself inside it. His sad expression is just priceless...and I can SO relate!

ROLE CALL!!!

If you are reading this blog please leave your name as a comment so that when Thomas is all grown up he will be able to see that people were actually reading this! That way I can more easily convince him that I wasn't COMPLETELY crazy for spending so much time on it!!

Dooley!

Dooley and Pals is Thomas' favorite show! He would watch this show all day, everyday if we would let him. It's really the only thing that he will sit still for these days!! Don't feel bad if you have no idea who Dooley is...before Thomas we didn't either! It's basically a show about an alien that lands on earth and makes friends with the neighborhood kids. They sing songs and each episode has a lesson. We've watched them so many times now that Travis and I have them memorized and I randomly find myself singing the songs throughout the day!

Thomas will sometimes also watch Clifford the Big Red Dog, Pocoyo, Family Feud or Wheel of Fortune but his favorite is definitely Dooley!

Fair warning if you spend ANYTIME at our house you WILL see some "Dooley" ;-D

dooley and pals

"Bye"

Yesterday leaving Amy's Thomas said "bye" for the first time!! He's been really into waving bye bye over the past week (waving bye to dad at night and in morning and even Dooley when we turn the TV off :-D). It caught both Amy and I by surprise but was so cute and unexpected. I actually think he surprised himself too!

More about Halloween 2009

Heading out for trick-or-treating with aunt Sabrina and Dad by his side

Struttin' his dragon stuff around the house! Adorable!!

Enjoying his sucker

Accepting sucker #2 from a neighbor...I think this was the first piece of candy he actually accepted himself...finally getting the hang of it!!

So this Halloween, although not Thomas' first, was the first one we actually got to go trick-or-treating and it was a blast! Grandma Vickie and Aunt Sabrina came down Friday and we dressed thomas in the Bumble bee coat grandma got him and went for dinner at Max and Erma's. Thomas apparently was starving because I've never seen a him try to pile so much macaroni into his mouth in such a short period of time! Then after Bubs went to bed Grandma, Sabrina and I carved a couple more pumpkins for the big day. Saturday evening Thomas and Sabrina got dressed up and we went out trick-or-treating. As you can see Thomas made the cutest little dragon! I don't think he had any idea what was going on as we walked to the first couple of house but was a good sport anyway. Once he figured out that he had candy in his pail he pulled out a sucker and was good to go! We only went to about 6 houses and then headed home to pass out candy. Our neighborhood was crazy with trick or treaters! I've never seen so many in one place, ever! Even the police and a firetruck were there passing out candy! Thomas got a sucker from the fireman driving the firetruck...he stopped just for him:-)

Now that Thomas figured out how it all works he keeps picking up his empty pail and taking it to the front door like he's ready to go get some more candy...too cute!! I'm sure in his mind he's like come on mom and dad lets go my buckets empty;-) Anyway, we had a great time and I am so proud of Bubs for how well he did. Now it'll just be fun trying to ration the candy!!
